How To Aim And Shoot A Compound Bow
Archery - is an art that exists for hundreds of years. Today, archery is greatly simplified due to the new equipment available on the market: mechanical releases, diopter sight etc. Modern archers keep a lot of things on their fingertips, so that can be difficult to understand all this stuff. It is time to learn how to aim and shoot.
How To Aim And Shoot A Compound Bow
1. Find a bow and other equipment.
2. Find a place for shooting.Join the section where there would be, at least, an enclosed space. A safe place for training is on open air.Always double check, that the place is perfectly safe. You do not want to injure anyone.
3. Take a position similar to a tree before the shooting, and then move the right foot slightly forward, and if you are left-handed, so move your left one. Rotate with your foot, not just turn only the leg.
4. Now, stretch a bow. At first it would seem that it's hard, but you get used. When you stretch a bow absolutely, then you should lean the nose to the string and look straight into the sight (if there is a diopter sight, use it).
5. If there is a release, you need to find the endpoint till which you can stretch a bow. For example: the thumb is located directly below the ear lobe, and right index finger is in the corner of the mouth.
6. Now, when you find an extreme point, stretch a bow and then apply all the advice from the 4th to 6th. Now either pull the trigger, if there is a release, and if there is not, release the string with fingers.
7. Train, train, train.
Helpful Tips
1. To achieve optimal accuracy and speed, use carbon arrows for the compound bow. Those who prefer aluminum arrows can use them, but the general view is that carbon arrows are better.
2. Remember that the string needs to be taken to an extreme point during each shot.Make sure that the tensile force is not too high. Fatigue can greatly reduce the accuracy and / or safety of shooting.
3. To start you may shoot from 10 meters and gradually increase the distance on 5 meters.
4. Remember that one foot should be slightly ahead. If this is not done, then the string slaps on the hand and hurts you! Of course, you can use the protective sleeves.
5. Medicine chest has to be used in the case of injury.
Warnings
1. Understand that you are dealing with a weapon. And the weapons can kill.
2. Do not break the law!
3. Make sure that you have the appropriate arrows! The arrow may be broken or puncture your hand. Bow can be broken apart into several pieces. There is a common rule that the carbon arrow should weigh 320 mg per 450 g of the tension force. Let the local experts in archery choose the appropriate arrow for your bow.
