 Further Information

What are some of the great advantages of compound bows?

The function of the cams maximises energy storage through the draw cycle to provide let-off at the end of the cycle allowing the archer to hold less weight for higher accuracy.

The design of the cams directly controls the acceleration of the arrow. A ‘soft cam’ will accelerate the arrow more gently than a ‘harder cam’.

A drawn compound bow pulls the limbs toward each other, by the buss cables which allows them to have limbs that are horizontal instead of angled. This minimizes the recoil and vibration felt by the archer when the arrow is released.

Compound bows are not affected by changes in temperature and humidity. This means an archer or hunter with a compound bow has superior accuracy, velocity and distance no matter what the temperature circumstances are.

Compound bows allow longer, more accurate and less strenuous aiming. How does it do this? It's all in the way a bow works.

A compound bow is a modern type of bow that uses a levering system, usually of cables and pulleys (known as the cams), to bend the limbs. The compound bow has limbs which are stiffer than those of a recurve bow or longbow, which makes compound bows more energy-efficient. Each compound bow has a string applied to the cams, and one or both of these pulleys will have one or more cables attached to the opposite limb. When a string of the compound bow is drawn back, the pulleys will turn. At the commencement of the draw the archer will have a reduced mechanical advantage however, during the draw, as the pulley cams rotate, the archer gains mechanical advantage over the bending limbs and less force is needed to bend the limbs more in comparison to other bows.

  1. You get what you pay for ??? 5 Star Review

Well I have not let loose an arrow for about twenty years. Today when my new bow arrived in the mail I went straight out; after attaching the whisker biscuit and let loose. Without setting the bow to my draw length and having it arrive set at 45-50 pound, I was able to group nine arrows within a radius of six to eight inches; shooting at a distance of about 15 meters. This is not a gold medal standard but it speaks of the stability, accuracy and quality of the bow, having been handled buy a relative new-comer to archery.
The arrows went through my sugarcane mulch bale and penetrated the garden shed behind it. Remember the bow is currently set at 45-50 pound it's maximum is 70 pound. This bow is capable of 305 feet per second, the range you are looking for to hunt.
I have spent the last twenty odd years hunting with a 308 cal. rifle and dog trapping, this new bow of mine is going to provide a welcomed new hunting challenge and in my opinion, it is equal to the task.
The $125 that I paid for this product dismisses the old adage of 'you get what you pay for'.
Magnesium alloy riser, split limb design, machined cams, 45-70 pound range, 305 feet per second, and the ability to customise to suit your requirements. Why spend $700-$1000+ on another brand???
